Scout Smith-O'Leary
Founder & Head Relationship Consultant
Scout is a certified practicing counsellor under PACFA - Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia. She holds a Master of Counselling and Psychotherapy from The Australian College of Applied Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Gender Studies from The University of Sydney.
Scout has worked for over a decade in adult education. She delivers informative relationship workshops and conscious speed dating events across the state. Furthermore, she offers specialised counselling for those seeking support with ethical non-monogamous dynamics. Her practice is informed by PCT, compassionate inquiry, psychodynamic, existential, Gottman and Imago therapeutic modalities.
Scout worked at South Pacific Private Treatment Centre as an Outpatient Therapist providing group counselling to individuals recovering from addiction issues (drug/alcohol/relationship) and mood disorders (depression/anxiety). This afforded her rich exposure, experience and training across a multitude of comorbid presentations including addiction, alcoholism, depression, anxiety and trauma.
As an avid educator and author in the counselling field, Scout continues to teach and write on subjects such as love, intimacy, authenticity, connection, romance and sex. You can find her monthly column in The Tawny Frogmouth Magazine distributed monthly across Sydney's Northern Beaches.
